Challenger Armoured Troop (Plastic) (TBBX11)
The new Challenger is not so much a revolution, but an evolution of the tried and tested Chieftain. The armour has been improved incorporating composite Chobham armour The engine, transmission and suspension all have better performance and reliability, making it faster and more manoeuvrable than the Chieftain.
Warrior Platoon (TBBX12)
The new Warrior infantry fighting vehicles are much faster and better-armed than the old FV432 APCs. The improved speed and mobility provided by the Warrior allows the squaddies of the Staffords’ mechanised platoons to keep pace with the new Challenger tanks.
Fox Recce Troop (TBBX13)
The Fox Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Wheeled) (CVR(W)) replaced the Saladin armoured car in service with the Regular and Territorial Army reconnaissance regiments. The Fox is a 4-wheel drive armoured car with a powerful Jaguar 4.2 litre petrol engine making it one of the fastest vehicles of its type.
M109 Artillery Battery (Plastic) (TUBX24)
The excellence of the M109 self-propelled howitzer is evidenced by the fact that it is used by every Western army on NATO’s Central Front apart from the French. The M185 155mm howitzer fires a wide variety of ammunition, including conventional high explosive, DPICM (Dual-Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions) bomblets, scatterable minelets, and Copperhead laser-guided projectiles out to a range of 18 km (11 miles).
M270 MLRS Battery (Plastic) (TUBX25)
The Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is a high-mobility automatic artillery system. It is made up of a twelve tube launcher packaged in two six-rocket pods, which are mounted on a stretched Bradley chassis with excellent crosscountry mobility.
