WTC VICTORY 2023 — FRILLED NECKED LIZARD REAVER STANDARD

Ahead of last year’s World Team Championship, we proposed a new tradition: Privateer would commemorate the winning team of each year going forward with a uniquely redesigned variant miniature, and this year we are pleased to introduce the first-ever WTC Victory Mini.

The annual Victory Miniature is created as a tribute to the winning team of each year’s World Team Championship event, who chooses an existing miniature they would like to see as a variant. Based on their suggestions for making the miniature representative of their home country, Privateer designs and produces one that celebrates their momentous triumph on the tabletop.

Last year’s winning team was the Australian Frilled Necked Lizards: Aaron Wale (Captain); James Moorhouse; Christopher Davies; Peter Bates; Jack Ding

“We wanted to capture iconic Australian characters whilst giving cheeky nods to our team’s history. We liked mixing the Mad Max vibe we felt Orgoth captured best with the Australian bushranger Ned Kelly’s iconic helmet. We added nods to our team and our Factions: the giant frilled-necked lizard banner (our team Mascot), the Gremlin following the big reaver around, and the Deathjack skull. And of course, to avenge the final loss in 2015, we asked that our Reaver hold aloft Megalith’s severed head! It was fun getting to see our ideas come to life. The concept art by Matthew Manghi made us unbelievably stoked.”

The WTC Victory 2023 — Frilled Necked Lizards Reaver Standard is now available for preorder. If you happen to be attending the WTC this year, you’ll have the first chance to get your hands on this exciting Reaver variant. While the miniature will not be available to sell at the show, we will be hand-carrying preorders for delivery at the WTC. While VAT will still apply, this will avoid all shipping costs. You’ll just need to present your online order receipt to our Privateer staff member and collect your mini on site. Unfortunately, we cannot ship any other items in this fashion, so please do not order anything with your WTC Victory Mini if you plan to pick it up at the event.

We have set up a special store item specifically for WTC attendees called the “WTC Delivery,” so please only order from that item if you intend to have the mini delivered there.

For anyone not attending the WTC this year, you can still preorder the Frilled Necked Reaver Variant at the link below. Preorders will begin shipping on October 19th. Any items ordered with the preorder will ship at the same time.
