We’re on kickstarter to fund the first two starter sets for the Icarus Project, as well as the rulebook.
The Alliance
The first faction is the Galactic Alliance of Humanity
The Galactic Alliance of Humanity is the ruling body for most of mankind. A utilitarian behemoth, the Alliance has the largest military in the galaxy; more than 60% of its worlds have standing fleets constantly in orbit to defend them.
Quality of life in Alliance varies massively. The closer to the galactic center you are, the higher standard of living you’re likely to enjoy – while those on the fringe live in poverty.
Many crucial industries in the Alliance, such as healthcare, transport, and energy are controlled by massive corporations, who don’t operate in the poorer parts of space – where profits are lower – meaning people on the fringe are often forced to use outdated technology and substandard medicine.
You’ll get six minis in the Alliance starter;
1x Gunslinger
1x Female Outrider Scout with Sniper Rifle
1x Male Trooper with LMG
2x Male Troopers With Assault Rifles in two unique poses
1x Female Trooper with Assault Rifle.
The Nexus
The second faction is the Nexus.
The Nexus have been responsible for two galactic wars in their attempts to wipe humanity from the galactic stage. The Second Nexus War saw some of the largest battles in history, and resulted in the Council of Systems breaking apart and many of its members forming their own governments and claiming their own spaces.
The Nexus are brutal, and their culture is built upon strength and war. The weak do not survive in Nexus society.
Most Nexus are now members of the Nexus Separatist Movement, an independent faction led by the Butcher of Aros, General Varakos. the NSM are waging war across the galaxy, claiming new territories and raiding vessels small and large as they travel the stars.
Every copy of the Nexus starter set contains the following:
1x Nexus Assassin With Sniper Rifle.
2x Nexus Grunts with assault rifles in unique Poses.
2x Feral Nexus with pistol and knives in Unique Poses.
1x Nexus Brawler with axe and knives.
The Rulebook
The other main thing being funded during the Kickstarter is the Icarus Project rulebook.
This 144 page hardback book will contain everything you need to play including rules, army lists, and full background for the universe and races.
