The Stick – Napoleonic British mule train
Following on from the French mule train ‘The Carrot’, this British version sees the muleteer taking an altogether more forceful approach to ‘encouraging’ her four-legged charges – The Stick!
Following the British Army wherever it marches, the mule train is invaluable carrying essential supplies and the troops’ personal belongings. Ensure the stubborn mules don’t fall behind or your gentlemen officers will have to go without their beloved cup of tea!
Although mule trains would not, in general, be seen at the front lines they can provide added atmosphere as a scenery piece or even provide the basis for scenarios – an enemy force catches the British column unawares on the march, or perhaps French Voltigeurs plan stage a sneak attack to capture or destroy the British supply train. Protect the mules!

Note: not to be confused with this classic mule train…
