SimplePolyTrix Is One 3D Test Print Closer to launching Kickstarter for Wargaming Terrain

SimplePolytrix, the one-man company that is set to create more variety in wargaming terrain, received yet another 3D printed model from the bundle set destined for crowdfunding later this summer.

The Power Generator, as it is dubbed by the developer, stands at an impressive 15cm x 20cm (6in x 8in).  The sheer size would possibly create problems for smaller, mini printers.  The solution was simple: segmentation.  The front entry and rear portion would be printed separately along with the 4 midsections.  With two holes included down the length of the building, two printable rods could skewer the pieces together.  A minor addition of glue, and the building is complete.

This print is the latest addition to the growing number of test prototypes the developer of SimplePolyTrix is striving for.  The operation of arranging for prints has been simple through a local library at minimal cost.  They look to continue producing other models in the near future.

A standard wargaming unit piece of 32 mm is being used to scale these models to appropriate size.  However, since the files are digital, scaling to 28 mm or smaller is easily achieved.

The Kickstarter is not to be a source of advanced finances to support upcoming production.  Instead the entire bundle will be ready the day after the crowdfunding has ended.  The files will be ready to download and print for those with home 3D printers.  For others who are still interested, the files will be available through a number of pay-to-print services such as Shapeways.

While the launch date of the crowdfunder has not officially been announced, projections are indicating towards the end of July.  The bundle will include 19 unique models plus a 7 piece road set, an 11 piece corridor & door set, and 6 unique objective markers that highly compliment the aesthetics of the battlefield.
