WASHINGTON – Most people know Justin “misterjustin” McCoy of Secret Weapon Miniatures (SWM), for his amazing bases and products of SWM, and his badass painting abilities, with scores of Crystal Brush and IPMS awards to boot.  But what many people don’t know about is his passion for supporting veterans and non-profit organizations.

This year, Justin continues his support of the NOVA Open Charitable Foundation (NOCF) as one of the premiere artists, contributing his skills by creating and painting Marneus Calgar for the  NOCF Macragge Project Ultramarine Army. But it didn’t take him long to go the extra mile and team up with Thomas Wynn and Dave Taylor (who spearhead the project) and turn an idea into reality a full set of exclusive bases for entire project.

Six years ago, Thomas – inspired by the base on Marneus Calgar – designed and laser cut bases for Dave who was working on his own Ultramarine project.  Similarly inspired, Justin and Dave have now designed exclusive OMEGA BASES that shipped to the Macragge Artists for both armies today. Justin is also shipping a set of broken columns to each artist so they can create ruins and further customize the charity bases

Today, SWM announced that it has created a limited edition run of these bases for everyone. As an added bonus, 50% of every Omega Base sale will be donated to the NOVA Open Charitable Foundation

Building a Compassionate Force

Miniature painters and artists have long been involved in producing miniature armies as a form of fundraising. Recognizing the immense generosity of the worldwide tabletop wargamers, the NOVA Open Charitable Foundation was formed to bring this “Compassionate Force” together under a single banner with a broad outreach to support charities which address the needs of humanitarian emergency relief, children’s causes, the military and medical research. All proceeds from this year’s charity army raffles include:
