Heroes and Legends Is Now Available
“I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner; now I am the master.”
–Darth Vader, Star Wars: A New Hope
Heroes and Legends, the first Force Pack in the Echoes of the Force cycle for Star Wars™: The Card Game, is now available at your local retailer and through our webstore! New tricks, traps, and schemes for every affiliation arrive with the beginning of the Echoes of the Force cycle, opening the doors for new deck ideas for every playstyle!
Whether you train to become a Jedi with Kyle Katarn, attack the light side’s Force Users with Inquistor Jerec, or conduct forward reconnaissance with Jan Ors, you’ll find new ways to use every affiliation’s strengths. In this Force Pack, each faction explores the power of the Force while keeping their own distinct flavor.
The Project Begins
Aboard the factory ship Arc Hammer, some of the Empire’s most brilliant engineers have begun a startling new war initiative: the Dark Trooper Project. This objective set offers the Imperial Navy all-new ways to contest the game’s Force struggle, beginning with the Phase I Dark Troopers (Heroes and Legends, 517), the first fruits of the Dark Trooper Project. These units are both Droids and Troopers, programmed and engineered to annihilate enemy soldiers.
You receive two Phase I Dark Troopers in this objective set, and with two unit damage when you win the edge, they make excellent defenders for two resources. In addition, Phase I Dark Troopers are always considered committed to the Force, without costing you a Force card. If you include two copies of The Dark Trooper Project in your deck, you could have four Phase I Dark Troopers committed to the Force without Force cards, in addition to three normal Force cards, potentially giving you seven units committed to the Force at once!
While the Phase I Dark Troopers give you more muscle for the Force struggle, you can look for more benefits in the Experimental Tech Lab (Heroes and Legends, 518). This enhancement provides two resources, increasing your production, but its special ability provides the real pull. Whenever you win a Force struggle, you can remove a focus token from the Experimental Tech Lab, freeing up more resources more often, and allowing you to deploy even more units for the light side to overcome.
The Imperial Navy loves efficiency, and to counter the fact that Phase I Dark Troopers must double-focus to strike the Imperial Navy’s best minds have developed an answer in The Dark Trooper Project (Heroes and Legends, 515) objective. This objective simply reads, “Each friendly unit committed to the Force gains elite.” It turns your Phase I Dark Troopers and every other unit you commit to the Force into an elite solider of the Imperial Navy, ready to attack or defend turn after turn.
Your Force-committed units grow even stronger under the leadership of General Mohc (Heroes and Legends, 516). The force behind the Dark Trooper Project, General Mohc is a brilliant engineer and soldier, and it was his disdain for the Death Star project led him to develop the Dark Trooper. Now, you can field General Mohc and have him lead your Dark Trooper army. With his damage capacity of three and his offensive combat icons, Mohc comes ready to lead an attack, but he can also provide a resource if you need one. Best of all, however, is the general’s ability, which grants every friendly, Force-committed unit an additional . If you combine this ability with the Imperial Navy version of Darth Vader (The Desolation of Hoth, 195) or Orbital Bombardment (Core Set, 103), even the lowliest Trooper can become a powerhouse that the light side must deal with.
The final card in the objective set is the Heat of Battle (Heroes and Legends, 169) fate card, which can help you to clear away defending light side units, potentially seizing unopposed damage, and bringing you one step closer to crushing the light side beneath your heel.
