Pocket General – Terrain Prototype Overview

SAM_0488

Hey guys, here’s an exciting update for those of you following our progress – an in depth look at the prototype Terrain pieces. There are six individual pieces, making up a fairly dense ruined city on the board. Of course, as we progress with the project, more pieces will be added and a greater variety of terrain types included so that battlefields can be fashioned to look like crowded urban metropolises, thick cloying jungles and everything in between! One of the great things about such small pieces is that you can easily mix and match different types of terrain to your hearts content, meaning that no two battlefields have to look the same and games can be kept from becoming stale and predictable. Terrain CADThe prototype pieces are highly detailed, despite only standing at 3 – 5 cm in height, sporting windows, gothic archways and a good dosage of ‘wear and tear’. The terrain comes on several sprues and is very simple to assemble, magnetise and then paint however you like. The floors will all be layered with the same magnetic material as the board, so that miniatures can stand atop the buildings without fear of falling off (see below). For now, the prototypes are made from corrugated card but we will be experimenting with several more sturdy materials for the kickstarter so that we are satisfied the buildings have a suitable durability.

We hope you guys like what you see, there will be more updates coming soon to show off other parts of the prototype so that you can see them all in greater detail. For now, here are pictures of the individual assembled piece of terrain, enjoy! As always, feel free to contact us on Facebook or Twitter, or by emailing [email protected].
