List Building With the Dawnguard Trident
The Dawnguard Trident has swooped into the Black Anchor Heavy Industries production lines and is now up for preorder! I’d like to show off one of my favorite lists I played when testing this model: Ossyan in the Legions of Dawn theme force.

I really like the speed of this list and how it can answer so many different questions. Ossyan provides a powerful feat that gives all ranged weapons an additional damage die against enemy models in Ossyan’s control range. The Trident’s 3d3 shots can really utilize this feat like few other models can! You have the potential to remove more than one heavy warjack from the game using this feat and a Trident—and it’s even better when you have two. The list also brings dice-fixing in the form of Fortune, which is excellent when cast on the Tridents or even Eiryss when you’re going in for the kill stroke on an opposing warcaster or warlock and need to strip the focus or fury off of them with Disruptor Bolt.
Quicken, alongside Force Barrier on Dawnguard Sentinels, not only makes them a fast unit but also makes them very resilient against ranged attacks. And while we’re talking about durability: the Trident is boasting an impressive ARM 20 from its front arc, thanks to the Ram Prow having the Shield special rule! The list also brings solid utility and tricks with Admonition on Banshees or Shatter Storm on any of the high volume of attack models (such as a Destor Thane or the Trident).
While this is my favorite list with the Trident, I also greatly appreciate how Ravyn, the Eternal Light works in it, as her spell Snipe and her feat take the Trident up a solid notch in both threat range and anti-infantry/’caster departments.
