Villainous Champions of the Shadow Keep for 5E.

Villainous Champions of the Shadow Keep is a fifth edition setting that lets the players join the forces of evil and play as malicious characters, instead of heroes. Players create an organization and build their secret lair. The organization could be a thieves’ guild, a dark cult or even a group of rebels… The possibilities are vast! This book offers all the mechanics and tools needed to create and manage an evil themed game. It is now live on kickstarter.

The Players’ Lair

Like all secret organizations, the group of players will have to find and set up their secret lair. They imagine their evil plans from their base and store all treasures and artifacts inside.
From time to time, the players’ base will be attacked by heroes of the realm in search of glory, gold and revenge. The setting includes lots of custom heroes based on the iconic archetypes of 5E, ready to be played by the game master.

To protect their base, players have to prepare their defenses:
– Choose a lair type which unlocks special maps.
– Customize their chambers and install traps or special artifacts .
– Recruit henchmen and monsters to repel the invaders.


This setting introduces a new fun game sequence: defend the base!

New races and classes

Players want to play distinctive characters, and this setting gives them the opportunity. The project created several original races such as the beast men, attracted by magic. Or the two-headed ogre, a character that must be played by two players! Or even a vampire, a powerful character that carries curses.

New classes are also in the spotlight. Try the Black Paladin, a class that controls the dark force, or even the soul shifter that is able to change bodies by possessing one of his enemies.

An adventure to take control of the kingdom

There are many ways to play an adventure with a group of evil characters. The choice is entirely yours. The story included is a humorous adventure in which players will serve an evil and absurd cult that worships the Dark One!
