As the hot weather and the long days of summer begin to fade away into the past, I bid a fond farewell to “Convention Season.” The whole Privateer crew had an awesome time catching up with all of our friends in the community who came out to see us at Lock & Load GameFest, San Diego Comic-Con, Gen Con, and PAX Prime. The year isn’t quite over yet, though; we still have one show left on the docket: WARMACHINE Weekend.

This November 7–9, Privateer Press staff will make the trip to St. Louis, Missouri, to take part in the annual festivities that make up WARMACHINE Weekend. It’s not all fun and games—we are going to very busy the whole weekend, selling new and prereleases in the vendor hall, livestreaming an entire day of Iron Gauntlet, offering painting demonstrations, livestreaming the finals of the WARMACHINE Weekend Invitational, and so much more. This is one show I really look forward to every year, not just because it marks the end of a full year of conventions but also because I have a personal history of attending the show before I even worked here at Privateer Press. Going back to WMW feels a lot like going home, and I can’t wait to see so many friends and roll some dice with our awesome player community when I’m not fulfilling my work responsibilities.

I’m painting up my Skorne right now for the event, so please come find me for a game when I’m hanging out in Iron Arena! In fact, any of the crew would love to be challenged to a throwdown, and there will be plenty of us to go around. This year’s WMW crew includes Will Shick, David “DC” Carl, Lyle Lowery, Tony Konichek, Geordie Hicks, and me. Everyone’s excited to bring 2014 to a close with a bang! I hope I’ll see many of you there.

Just because 2014 is starting to wind down doesn’t mean my work is done. I’m already looking at our plans for TempleCon 2015, SmogCon 2015, AdeptiCon, and even Lock & Load GameFest 2015. We had a great 2014, but 2015 is going to be even better. Get ready for the best year of shows yet, and we’ll see you on the road!
