Sunday at Lock & Load GameFest 2014 was a marathon day for those of us on the video production crew. The day’s work left little opportunity for us to rest, but we barely noticed as we were fully engaged in broadcasting the first-ever Iron Gauntlet: WARMACHINE & HORDES World Championship.

Since we began live streaming Iron Gauntlet games at Lock & Load 2013, we’ve only shown one game at a time, but this year we decided to amp it up and bring you a game from every round. Both Will Shick and David “DC” Carl gave their vocal chords a workout by providing hours of commentary for each featured game in addition to regular match updates between rounds. Hundreds of people watching live at Lock & Load and thousands more watching the broadcast on Twitch were able to follow the flow of play from the preliminary round through the final matchup, where Jay Larsen became the first-ever Iron Gauntlet champion.

Bringing these games to you was my personal highlight of Lock & Load this year. If you weren’t able to see these amazing games live during the event, now’s the time to watch some of the greatest WARMACHINE and HORDES players in the world face off against each other in the very first Iron Gauntlet World Championship.
