There’s so much to see and do at Lock & Load. It’s going to be an absolutely killer weekend. Event registration opens this Friday at 1:00 P.M. PDT, so you can lock in your battle plan for the weekend. To plan your days out, check out the full event descriptions on the Lock & Load website! You can’t register without a badge, so buy yours today!
There’s so much new stuff going on for this year’s Lock & Load. Perhaps the biggest and most exciting change this year is the replacement of seminars and panels with Privateer Press Hangouts. This year, in the Iron Arena Hall, there will be two designated Lounges where you can pull up a chair and talk about an array of interesting topics in a laid back, comfortable lounge setting. You’ll be able to talk to Doug Seacat about the state of the factions, play the new Undercity board game with the game’s creators, get an inside look at the art of the Iron Kingdoms, and so much more. The best part is you can pop in and out whenever you want, so there’s no need to worry if your Iron Arena game runs long or you need to take off to get to another event! Of course, you can also make your way to the fourth floor to assemble and paint models or get hobby tips at the hangouts in the P3 Studio Hobby Lounge. We’re all excited to kick back with all of you, so make sure you drop in and say “Hey!”
We also have more tournament seats available than ever before. This year’s Lock & Load boasts two 128-player Masters Qualifier events on Friday, so twice as many players will have a chance to vie for the title of Lock & Load 2015 Masters Champion. That means twice the competition as last year, twice the opponents, and twice the mayhem!
Speaking of twice the mayhem, we’ll also be running a new “Double Threat” tournament on Sunday morning. This event is a 50-point tournament in which each army includes two warcasters or warlocks. If you’ve never seen Orsus Zoktavir, Butcher of Khardov use Blood Frenzy and cleave into a Stormwall under the effect of Forward Kommander Sorscha Kratikoff’s Winter’s Chill . . . Let’s just say everyone should experience that once in their lifetime.
Last, but not least, for those of you who never want to forget the fun times we all had together at Lock & Load GameFest 2015, we’re going to be hosting the Five Fingers Tattoo Parlor all day Saturday in the Iron Arena Hall. Tattoo Artist Paul Thomas from Apocalypse Tattoo in Seattle will be in-house providing FREE Privateer Press tattoos to attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis. We’ll have a selection of different “flash” you can choose from to commemorate the weekend and show your love of all things Privateer Press.
Lock & Load GameFest is coming June 5-7. We’ll see you there!
