Insider 4-23-2014

Lock & Load is easily one of the highlights of the year for Privateer Press. Not only does it bring together players from all over the world for an amazing three days of everything Privateer, but it also often heralds some of the most exciting releases of the year. These are often projects we have been working on since, or even before in many cases, the previous year’s Lock & Load.

While this year’s Lock & Load will be filled with some amazing releases for WARMACHINE & HORDES, Zombies Keep Out, and High Command, it also will mark the launch of a whole new line from Privateer Press, one that will give players and enthusiasts an awesome new way to show off their love of all things Privateer Press.

It is with a huge amount of excitement that I reveal to you Privateer Pins, our new line of collectible pins that features the characters and worlds of Privateer Press in glorious full-color enamel!

Pins have been a part of Privateer Press since 2007, and it has always been a goal to expand this foundation. So, after months of hard work, this goal will become a reality at Lock & Load 2014.

For the inaugural release, Privateer Pins will be featuring several of the most iconic WARMACHINE and HORDES characters, the battlegroup box warcasters and warlocks and the iconic warjacks and warbeasts from the Prime and Primal factions.

Illustrated by Privateer Press’ own amazing concept artist Nick Kay and designer Laine Garrett, these character pins are chock full of…well, character! Not only do these pins look amazing, but the warjack and warbeast pins are seriously big, as befits their massive status.

In addition to these iconic characters, Privateer Pins is also launching with the corresponding faction logo pins. Mercenary, Retribution, Convergence, and Minions characters, warjacks and warbeasts, and faction logos will be hot on the heels of the Lock & Load releases, as will new characters for all factions.

But that’s far from everything. One of the great things about Privateer Pins is that it gives us a chance to really have some fun with our beloved characters. And with Lock & Load promoting the release of the new Zombies Keep Out expansion, Night of the Noxious Dead, we wanted to do a special limited-edition set to celebrate our newest Bodger Game.

The Lock & Load exclusive set features a whole host of undead goodness, including the Undead ability symbol from WARMACHINE & HORDES, the Stinker zombie from Night of the Noxious Dead, and two “zombified” versions of classic characters. Zombie Riggs and—my personal favorite—Pistol Wraith Caine!

Several of these pins also feature glow-in-the-dark enamels to really drive home the undead theme. This set will only be available at the Lock & Load store, but for those who can’t make it to Lock & Load this year, an alternate version of this set will be available on the Privateer Press online store the morning Lock & Load opens and will remain until it is sold out. Both sets are very limited, however, so don’t miss out on your chance to get a hold of this awesome first set.

In addition to the Lock & Load limited-edition sets, June will also see several other zombified WARMACHINE characters available through special promotions. Perhaps my favorite zombification is Magnus the Traitor, who will be included for free with Privateer Press Summer Sale Army Bundles!

Other zombified characters will also be released following Lock & Load, including favorites like Dominar Rasheth, Lord Carver, and Sebastian Nemo.

A whole host of pins will also be available through organized play events at conventions and exclusive variant pins available by playing games and tra
ding with a Privateer Press staff member.

While there’s so much more I can’t wait to share, more will be revealed about Privateer Pins as we ramp up to the big release at Lock & Load 2014. Be sure to watch Privateer Insider for more behind-the-scenes looks at what to expect from this amazing new collector’s line.

Keeping it on point,
