Insider 3-9-2015

As we race toward the one-year anniversary of Privateer Pins, let us pause to recall the more than 140 pins we’ve released since June of 2014.

Yeah, that number gave me pause, too. I had no idea we’d done so much!

The entire 2015 Privateer Pins plan is in place, and the baseline of creative, engaging, and exciting pins just keeps expanding. The Lock & Load GameFest 2015 pins alone include some fantastic surprises that include a new line, new chibis, and limited-edition promos that emphasize just how far we’ve come.

Coming up with the entire year’s worth of pins is challenging but not for the reason you might think—it’s actually a trimming process, cutting down from a very large list to something more reasonable. There’s a great deal to consider: faction balance, logos and banners and symbols, characters, chibis, zombies, singles, sets, special treatment, and even a unique pin that we could launch for hardcore collectors at Lock & Load in June.

Of course, between now and then, we have still more pins to come. We have the new March pins (I am a big fan of chibi Thagrosh, in part because I just spent weeks and weeks writing a “Gavyn Kyle Files” article on him for the upcoming No Quarter #59), and both the April and May pins are ready to go.

If you collect the pins—just a faction, just a line, or all of them—I’m eager to hear which pins are your favorites and why, and I’d like to know what you’re hoping we’ll do in the future. There’s still room left in the 2015 schedule! I’ll be watching the forums for your thoughts!
