Insider 2-9-2015

I tend to hop through factions like a hummingbird, giving in to the temptation of the new and shiny perhaps a bit too often. But this year is going to be different! For 2015, my New Year’s resolution is to commit myself to a single HORDES faction and a single WARMACHINE faction. I’ve been dying to answer the call of the kriels for years, and in 2015 I’m finally going to focus on Trollbloods.

There are so many amazing looking Trollbloods models, I’m not even sure where to start! Looking through the Trollblood units, I immediately wanted to put together an army with Trollkin Runeshapers. Who fields Runeshapers better than anyone else? Hoarluk Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls with his awesome Runes of War theme force! After talking with a few friends who play Trollbloods regularly, I finally settled on this 50-point list to break into Trollbloods:

Runes of War Tier 4
Hoarluk Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls +7 warbeast points
-Dire Troll Mauler 9
-Earthborn Dire Troll 10
-Mulg the Ancient 12
-Troll Axer 6
Janissa Stonetide 3
Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (6) 4
-Stone Scribe Elder 1
Trollkin Runeshapers x4 3 each (theme force discount)

In addition to this Runes of War theme force army, I will definitely want a second list to take to conventions and local game nights. Fortuitously, Mike Ryan and Michael Sanbeg from No Quarter recently asked if I would like to participate in an upcoming battle report showcasing the Sacral Vault and the Meat Thresher. Not only does this give me the perfect excuse to paint a second list, but the Meat Thresher will be an absolute blast to play in a Trollbloods army. How could I refuse? I can hardly wait to show off the Meat Thresher. Be sure to check out the March issue of No Quarter to see what happens when Lyle Lowery and I collide on the battlefield!

Until next time, I’ll leave you with these progress shots of Trollbloods 2015!
