Insider 09-28-2015

After more than a year of growth, Privateer Pins heads into the months that end in “-ber” with a set of new pins to expand your collection—chibis (the newly released Chibi Asphyxious is going to be a hot one), logos, cereals (Convergence players will be pleased with our November release)—but my favorite to date is our Warjack-o-Lantern pin and the contest that accompanies it.

Based on an idea by Matt Wilson, the Warjack-o-Lantern is our first-ever Halloween pin—a very distinctly “carved” pumpkin that undoubtedly sits on many a porch in the Iron Kingdoms—and so we’re launching it with a contest!

All you gotta do is carve a pumpkin—or a squash or any other seasonal gourd; we’re pretty open here—with a WARMACHINE, HORDES, or Iron Kingdoms feel to it. And you’re carving for dollars: the top three winners will each receive 50 bucks to spend in the Privateer Press online store. But for the pin collectors, this contest comes with an added bonus: the first 50 entries will receive the Warjack-o-Lantern pin absolutely free, just for competing. (And if you win but weren’t one of the first fifty submissions, don’t worry—we got you covered.)

Take great photos of your creation and send them to us at [email protected] (with the subject line WARJACK-O-LANTERN) no later than October 26, 2015. Be sure to give us your name and mailing address in the email, so we know where to send your Warjack-o-Lantern pin, if you’re one of the first fifty entries.

Modelers and painters, the challenge is on! A few years ago, I saw a spectacular Deneghra pumpkin and thought it was one of the most creative carvings I’d seen. With that in mind, we anticipate seeing some equally awesome work in the contest. (And if you’re out there, OriginalBunny, here’s a chance to put that Cryxian talent good use!) And of course, we’ll post the winning pics all over creation for everyone to ooh and aah over.

The Privateer Pins collection grows month by month, and we’ve already planned out pins through Lock & Load GameFest 2016. (Remember last year’s Butcher Santa ? Wait until you see what we have for Christmastime this year!)

We’ve taken suggestions from collectors for new pin ideas; we’ve released exclusives for conventions and special events; and we’ve covered all the lands of the Iron Kingdoms and beyond, including our Zombies Keep Out pins and our LEVEL 7 collection. If you’re new to the collection, check out privateerpress.com/pins to get in on the action!

But there’s always room for more! What are some of your favorites? What are pins you hope we’ll produce in the months to come? Give us your oPINion in the forums or on Twitter #pinftw!

Until next month,
Mike
