Path of Devastation: Riven Bonds Begins Today!

If you haven’t heard about it yet, Path of Devastation is this year’s story-driven league. In Path of Devastation, you can get in on the action at your local retail store not only by playing games of WARMACHINE and HORDES but also High Command and the Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game! All the rules you need in order to play are here.

One of the most exciting aspects of the league is the new Hero system. This year, you get to customize your own personal faction model: your Hero. Your Hero gains experience based on your actions during the league, and a Hero grows stronger by spending that experience to learn new abilities or gain new equipment. You have to be careful, though—your Hero can suffer horrific injuries if wounded in battle. At that point, it’s up to you whether or not your Hero is allowed some time off to rest at the Apothecary if you force your Hero to battle through the pain.

Your choices—and how they craft your Hero’s tale—are really the focal point of each league season. Whether you are earning your Hero experience by painting models, battling it out on the tabletop, or enjoying the custom-built RPG encounters with some friends, you decide how your Hero progresses. Path of Destruction isn’t about winning or losing; it’s about having fun creating a legend on your own design.

With that in mind, we want to see and hear about the Heroes you create during the course of Riven Bonds. Anytime between now and the end of this season (March 29), send us an email at [email protected], telling us the epic tale of your Hero. Let us know your Hero’s name, story, and the challenges you’ve faced. Most important, send us a picture of your fully painted and converted Hero model!

At the end of this season, I’ll showcase some of the most creative and epic Heroes you created. We look forward to hearing from you very soon.
