Haakon Viers and the Destroyers of Worlds

After getting my hands on the new Zenian League Alliance Fleet Guide and pouring over the vast array of amazing models laid out before me, I knew it was time for my Dindrenzi Fleet to return to the tabletop once more and reap victory in the name of Rense.
I wanted to give my Fleet an identity of its own, with a very distinct colour scheme and background story. After a few colour tests I settled on the blue/grey hull plating with yellow detailing and bright blue engine glows. These colours work nicely together and stand out nicely on the tabletop, without being too “garish” or moving away from the utilitarian military feel of the Dindrenzi.

Once I had the colour scheme set it was time to flesh out the background story I had been toying about with.
I wanted the Fleet to represent a battle hardened fighting force commanded by a grizzled combat leader. Enter Admiral Haakon Viers.
A veteran of the Second Secession War, Haakon watched in horror from the bridge of his ship as Dramos burned. Never coming to terms with witnessing this brutal act, Haakon now hunts down Terran Fleets in order to extract some measure of revenge.
A battle hardened Admiral like Haakon Viers needs a Fleet up to the continuous rigours of combat, and the 13th Grand Fleet the “Destroyers of Worlds” are more than up to the task.
Not one for the subtleties of war, Admiral Haakon places great stock in larger warships. Leading the Fleet from the Bridge of the Scythe an upgraded Praetorian Class Battleship, Haakon is always the speartip of a heavy hitting group of Battle Cruisers, Heavy Cruiser and Gunships, backed up by the close range support of a pair of Carriers.
It has been great fun creating the background story for this Fleet, really getting into the details of the composition of the force, and creating a colour scheme to get them noticed on the tabletop.
