Job Description
The WARMACHINE & HORDES Development Assistant duties include primarily working closely with the Lead Developer of WARMACHINE and HORDES, as well as the rest of the Privateer Press Development crew, on concepting, designing, and play testing WARMACHINE & HORDES rules and models. The Development Assistant also assists with other WARMACHINE & HORDES-related tasks as well as with other game development support tasks as needed, such as concepting, designing, prototyping, play testing, and proofing.
Duties Include:
- Meeting and collaborating with the Lead Developer to discuss WARMACHINE & HORDES models, meta-rules, game balance, etc.
- Acting as a primary play tester for WARMACHINE & HORDES with the internal play testing team.
- Proofing and reviewing WARMACHINE & HORDES development materials, such as the rules for new models, updates to the meta-rules, and other development materials or products as needed.
- Assisting in the creation and development of new WARMACHINE and HORDES materials as required by the Lead Developer and/or the Development Manager
- Contributing to development discussions on the overall picture and strategy of WARMACHINE & HORDES rules development and execution.
- Assisting on other development projects as needed.

- Intimate familiarity with existing Privateer Press games, specifically WARMACHINE & HORDES
- Broad knowledge and experience of game mechanics and gaming trends

- Confidence-inspiring work ethic and reliability
- Dedication to on-time completion of high quality products
- Working knowledge of Apple computers and common office software
- Willingness to travel to various consumer and trade conventions
Benefits for full time salaried crew members:
- Vacation pay accrues at 6.66 hours per month (after 90 days of continuous employment, following the first of the month, for full-time salaried employees only)
- Sick pay accrues at 8 hours per month (after 90 days of continuous employment, following the first of the month, for full-time employees only)
- Currently from 10/1/15 – 9/30/16 Privateer pays 100% of crew member’s medical (which includes partial life insurance and vision benefits) and dental (after 90 days of continuous employment, following the first of the month, for full-time employees only)
