Insider 03-17-2016
Time really seems to fly here at Privateer Press. It feels like only yesterday we were standing on stage in the Meydenbauer Center, bidding a fond farewell to all of our friends who came out for Lock & Load GameFest 2015. Already, the next Lock & Load is just around the corner—and it’s bringing a whole lot of fun along for the ride. We’re just a few months away from that weekend, so it’s time to start talking about the events we have planned for our attendees, not to mention the plans in store for attendees at the Lock & Load Outpost events across Europe this June. Lock & Load GameFest 2016 promises to be the best weekend of Privateer Press gaming all year, so secure your badge today! (And don’t forget to register with Hilton Bellevue by calling 1.800.643.7907 or using group code LOCKCI when you book online.)
Lock & Load GameFest’s many favorite events will be returning for 2016: Iron Painter, Masters, Iron Gauntlet, Hardcore, Operation Crucible: A LEVEL 7: [Omega Protocol] Live Event, Iron Arena, and the Formula P3 Grandmaster Painting Competition (just to name a few). And to give everyone a heaping serving of their favorite Privateer Press games, we even planned some new hangouts and gaming events. Personally, I’m really excited about the new Privateer Play-to-Win in the Events Hall. The basic premise of Play-to-Win is similar to that of Iron Arena, but it focuses entirely on our board and card game lines. You will be able to check out your favorite Privateer Press games from the game library, play them, and in doing so earn raffle tickets for our Closing Ceremony giveaways. Then, we’ll raffle off a wide array of those games as prizes for the players who took part in Play-to-Win. And the best part is Play-to-Win also lets you earn skulls for Iron Arena, giving you even more chances to take home some awesome Privateer Press swag.
Beyond Play-to-Win, we have numerous events for our LEVEL 7 games, and Corvis Calibration, a brand-new multi-table event for The Undercity: An Iron Kingdoms Adventure Board Game. The Iron Kingdoms Roleplaying Game also has some great new events this year, like Dead Reckoning and the Iron Game Master Competition. We heard a lot of feedback asking for more slots to play the RPG as both players and Game Master, and I think this year’s schedule really delivers.
Lock & Load isn’t just in the U.S. this year, though. Our European events are also chock-full of amazing opportunities to enjoy your favorite Privateer Press games and an exclusive, live Q&A session with Privateer Press staff after the Keynote on Saturday night! Here’s what they have planned:
Lock & Load Outpost Germany 2016
Doors open on Friday, June 10, at 12:00 p.m., and the event ends on Sunday, June 12, at 6:00 p.m. Iron Arena will be open the entire time, and players will have the opportunity to earn points to redeem for special items.
Alternatively, Lock & Load Outpost Germany will have myriad large events planned. Along with the many spontaneous and scheduled events, a 128-player Masters event will start on Friday with the Top Eight cut. Midnight Madness, Hardcore, and Steamrollers will start on Saturday, all offering qualifier spots for the Outpost Masters on Sunday. Next to fame and glory, the winner of the Outpost Masters qualifies for a spot at the next WARMACHINE Weekend!
Lock & Load Outpost Germany will offer a painting competition, a miniature-repair service, and workshops led by Mechanical Legion artist Tomas Mennes.
And the exclusive Lock & Load sculpt of Colbie from the Black River Irregulars will be made available to everyone who has booked a room at the relexa hotel in Frankfurt! For more information about the event, go to their website.
Lock & Load Outpost UK 2016
Coming to you from the heart of Manchester, Lock & Load Outpost UK looks to deliver the Lock & Load experience with a British spin.
Outpost UK will not only have the Iron Arena, tournament gaming, painting and modeling events, and a large showcase of Privateer’s board and card games, but it will also live-stream the other Lock & Load events—all in a 24-hour party atmosphere.
All attendees will get the chance to watch the Privateer Keynote live from Seattle and gain access to exclusive event items. The Keynote will be followed by a live Q&A session with Matt Wilson and many of the Privateer Press staff!
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on April 1 via the Tiebreak site at www.tiebreak.co.uk.
