Robert E Howard’s Conan RPG and Age of Conan team up for a barbarous new crossover source book
Table top and video game fans get a double dose of Conan from Modiphius and Funcom
Modiphius Entertainment, creators of award-winning roleplaying games like Achtung! Cthulhu and acclaimed table top board games like Thunderbirds the 50th Anniversary co-op board game, is pleased to announce Age of Conan a new crossover sourcebook for its Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of Kickstarter campaign.
The Age of Conan source book will take many of the most popular locations, characters, monsters and magic from Funcom’s celebrated Age of Conan MMORPG videogame, allowing players to experience them in a table top setting for the very first time.
The sourcebook for the Conan roleplaying game will be written with assistance from Funcom’s own Age of Conan team and further cements a partnership which sees Kickstarter backers receive additional benefits in the popular MMORPG.
The Age of Conan sourcebook offers expanded character generation rules with brand new backgrounds based on classes in Age of Conan, allowing players additional options such as even more dangerous magical powers.
The Age of Conan sourcebook will also contain secrets and background on some of the most exciting adventures and locations in the MMORPG such as:
Tortage is one of the largest Barachan Isles off the coast of Hyboria. It is a den of smugglers, thieves and pirates. The players in Age of Conan start their journey here and in the tabletop roleplaying game anyone can delve deeper into the mysteries and conspiracies of this corrupt viper’s nest.
The Iron Tower is a mighty prison in the Aquilonian capital city of Tarantia. It is a challenging dungeon in Age of Conan, where nothing is as it should be. It is filled with crooked guards, devious infiltrators, crazed prisoners and even darker forces lurk beneath the surface.
Ymir’s Pass lies between the barbarous lands of Cimmeria and the kingdoms to the south. It is a treacherous path through the mountains, where followers of the self-proclaimed bandit king Atzel, Frost Giants and Vanir raiders roam. Rumour has it that the oldest of the god Ymir’s children, the Frostfather himself, dwells here.
The Age of Conan Sourcebook will be a full-color 112 page hardcover book lavishly illustrated with concept and original art from Age of Conan.
The Conan Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of Kickstarter
The Kickstarter for Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed launched on Tuesday 16th February at 12 Noon GMT and reached its initial goal of 45K in under two hours. As of early March, it had met all of its stretch goals, with nearly 2400 backers pledging over £225K, making it Modiphius’ biggest Kickstarter to date.
