They’re Everywhere: Veer-myn Breakdown

Warpath_II_FinalVersion

In in the bright lights of the future, there are things that go bump in the night. For the longest time they were thought to be a myth – tales told by freighter Captains after one too many alchozorbs – unexplained malfunctions, noises in the hull; that sort of thing. For the Pathfinders on Exham IV, the threat is all too real. In every shadow lurk creatures of malign intelligence and brutal ferocity. You can’t see them, but they’re everywhere. The Veer-myn are coming.

Thanks to the generosity of our Kickstarter Backers, the threat of the Veer-myn has been fully realised in a brand new hard plastic sprue.  These vicious creatures are the basic troop for the Veer-myn faction – forming the bulk of any rodent force. They star opposite the Enforcer Pathfinders as a new antagonist in Deadzone.

The new sprue contains enough parts to build five Veer-myn, either as Night Crawlers or Stalkers. Night Crawlers are armed with a two-handed chemical ray-gun, that melts through flesh and armour with ease. Stalkers prefer the close up kill – so are armed with knives and ray-pistols. As with our other recent hard plastics, these have been digitally sculpted. You can expect a high level of quality and a lot of inter-changeability between all of the parts in the set.

Each model is made up of a head, two arms, a torso, a pair of legs and a tail. There are nine different heads to choose from, wearing a variety of gas masks or snarling teeth.  Legs are sprinting forwards, standing or stalking carefully – ideal to pose your Veer-myn to match their sneaky character.

In addition to the above, there are two heavy weapons to upgrade one of your Veer-myn to a Malignus. These chemists are support troopers and leaders both, and pack an extra punch into your strike teams. One weapon is a chemical laser – similar in function the ray-guns carried by the other troopers, but far more powerful. The other is a chemical thrower, capable of dousing the enemy in vast quantities of corrosive liquid. There is also a wrist mounted flamer option for him, too.

All of the models are made to 28mm scale and having them as a hard plastic sprue makes them inexpensive and easy to assemble – you can build a veritable horde of rats in no time. They could even be used as characterful proxies in any other sci-fi miniatures game. The sprue also includes several little details, such as kits of needles and virus, extra vials to reload weapons, to really make each of your rodents unique.
