Beyond the Gates of Antares – Mounted Units Rules and Reference Sheets

With playtesting forging along, gathering pace and new players by the day – painted models and battle reports are pouring in from across the globe – and we seem to be shifting gears constantly…

At Warlord HQ, we now have 17 Warlord staff members preparing their forces for our weekly playtesting sessions, and we’ve even had a few guests pop in for a sneaky peek at the latest iteration of the rules, and to experiment with new ideas as they pour out of Rick’s head…

…and with every new painted force shown, every battle report received, and every question asked on the Beyond the Gates of Antares Facebook Group, Rick seems to get more and more excited – he can often be seen bouncing off of the walls, chittering and chattering in (what we can only assume to be) some form of bizarre Antarean language…

This week, we have the rules for using Mounted Units in the Antarean universe… we’ve also been listening to the community, and have heard your requests for the Weapons Chart to be made available separately – you can download them now for absolutely FREE! – and don’t forget to let us know what you think!

Mounted Units

Mounted units represent troops mounted upon or riding some kind of machine, such as a suspensor disc or bike, or riding a creature that is comparable in some way to a horse. For the sake of writing rules we will call them all ‘riders’ and whatever they ride is a ‘mount’. The most common kind of mount is some sort of bike, and occasionally the rules may refer to bikes or use bikes as an example where this makes the intent clearer.

Weapons Chart

The Weapons Chart can be found on page 34 of the Beta Rules pack – however, we’ve noticed that we tend to flick back-and-forward to this page so often that we thought it would be a useful additional Download!

Reference Sheet

The Reference Sheet can be found on the back page of the Beta Rules Pack – but it’s a useful reference, and makes for a great intro for new players!
