The New Year has arrived, so I thought I’d give you a sneak peek at a couple of releases coming your way from Skull Island eXpeditions in 2015. It’s going to be a great year, chock full of exciting fiction highlighting characters from WARMACHINE and HORDES and a few characters and stories beyond the comfortable confines of the Iron Kingdoms.

First up is Cold Steel written by Miles Holmes, whom you may remember as the author of the fantastic novella Way of Caine. This new novella, which tells the tale of a Steelhead halberdier, will be serialized in the pages of No Quarter. You can read the first installment in No Quarter #58, which is available now.

Miles has done a fantastic job showcasing what it means to be a mercenary in the Iron Kingdoms. The protagonist of Cold Steel, a Llaelese refugee named Nicolas Verendrye, joins the Steelheads after the Khadoran invasion of Llael, looking for a way to fight the nation that inflicted so much pain and destruction on his homeland. His journey from nondescript recruit to respected leader is one that will take him across the Iron Kingdoms in the employ of nearly every faction in WARMACHINE.

Grab No Quarter #58 off the shelf of your local gaming store or download the digital version through PPDigital and check out the first part off this exciting story.

Also coming your way in 2015 is Skull Island eXpeditions’ first foray into the Nightmare Empire of Cryx. The upcoming novella Wyrmbane focuses on Lich Lord Venethrax and his mandate from Toruk to collect intelligence on the Dragonfather’s spawn. This novella by veteran fantasy author Richard Knaak recounts the events that took place on one of Venethrax’s most harrowing encounters with Toruk’s spawn. Look for Wyrmbane in the second half of 2015.

These two rousing adventures are only a sampling of the novels, novellas, and short stories to come in 2015. Watch the Privateer Press Insider blog for more information in the months to come.
