Winter Korps Core Army Box Breakdown
We inadvertently caused some confusion with our Khador Winter Korps Core Starter contents list that went out earlier this week. Specifically, the line, “2x Winter Korps Infantry unit (12 models)” raised some eyebrows, which is understandable given that Winter Korps infantry works a little differently than units in the Storm Legion or Sea Raiders starters.
Winter Korps infantry units are comprised of five models, just like the other armies we have shown, and you’ll also have the option of including a standard bearer. However, where the Winter Korps infantry differs is that the unit configurations are customizable.
Each unit includes three riflemen and any two support weapons, including grenade porters, rocketeers, and machine gunners.
The Core Starter comes with six riflemen and two of each support weapon, enough for two full units with a couple support weapons left over. So, you’ll be able to field units with two different support weapons, or you can put all your eggs in one basket with a unit supported by two rocketeers! The Winter Korps approach to mixed arms makes them very flexible while also representing Khador’s new philosophy regarding an “everyman” army, where every soldier is capable of jumping into any role.
Here’s an updated contents list that should put any confusion to rest:
- 1 Kapitan Ilari Borisyuk Warcaster
- 1 Dire Wolf Heavy Warjack
(4x Head 8x Arm/Weapon options) - 1 Great Bear Heavy Warjack
(4x Head 8x Arm/Weapon options) - 2x Winter Korps Infantry Unit with Support Weapon Options (12 models)
6x Riflemen
2x Grenade Porters
2x Machine Gunners
2x Rocketeers - 2x Winter Korps Infantry Standard
- 1 Shock Trooper Gunner Unit (3 models)
- 1 Arkanist Unit (3 models)
- 1 Winter Korps Officer Solo
We also had a typo in the descriptive text that mistakenly stated “two” shock trooper units. The starter actually contains one shock trooper unit.
And, here’s an image showing the full contents of the Winter Korps Core Starter. (You’ll have to excuse the concept art standing in for the Shock Trooper Gunners; the heavy armor makes them a little slower and they’re lagging behind the rest of the Korps, but we’ll have sculpts to show you soon!)
