Privateer Press is looking for a highly motivated individual experienced with community interactions and
social media while possessing an intimate knowledge of Privateer Press products and a strong work ethic to join our team.


Job Description

The Community Manager is responsible for working as part of the Marketing Team in executing the
hands-on aspects of Privateer Press’ social media strategies and hands-on online audience engagement.
This position requires a high degree of practical knowledge of diverse social media platforms and online
community moderation practices. In some cases, travel to conventions for on-site social media coverage
of Privateer Press events may be required.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Community Manager’s primary mission is to improve and advance public relations with the Privateer Press gaming community through social media. The Community Manager’s highest concern should be the reputation of Privateer’s company and product brands.

Day-to-day moderation and audience engagement on Privateer Press’ multiple Facebook pages, as well as Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube, and other social media platforms as needed.

Administration and oversight of moderators, escalation of community issues by the moderation team, and personal engagement with community members relating to their questions and concerns with Privateer Press games and products.

Community and market research: the Community Manager will spend time reading and reporting on fan-sites, forums, and other sources of information pertinent to Privateer Press’ market and trends within that market.

Fielding Customer Service inquiries made by audience members on social media as needed.


Qualifications

  • Must be able to work in our Woodinville location
  • Strong familiarity with dominant social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others
  • Familiarity with social media management tools such as HootSuite
  • The ability to write in a “company voice
  • A strong interest in social media technologies and understanding of online communities
  • Excellent skills in online community leadership and interpersonal relations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of working both individually and collaboratively
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Working familiarity with Macintosh/PC computers and common office software such as Word and Excel
  • Upbeat and positive attitude
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized
  • Strong work ethic
  • Action-oriented and able to complete tasks quickly
  • Able to multi-task
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of all Privateer’s products and product lines
  • Able and willing to travel to conventions, industry trade shows, open houses, etc. in and outside the U.S.
  • Physically able to bend, stoop, climb, and crouch repeatedly while performing physical labor. In addition, potential applicants must be able to stand and work on their feet for 8 hours a day when working conventions and trade shows
  • Knowledge of podcast recording and editing software
