Gingerbread Madness

It’s that time of year when it’s a little hard not to get into the holiday spirit. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, Yule, or even Giving Day over in Canie, there are so many festivities to make merry over. Here at Privateer HQ we are feeling that holiday glow as well, and we’re celebrating in a way only fans of miniatures gaming would. We are making gingerbread houses!

But these are not any old ordinary houses crafted from confectionary, of course. Our staff’s creations are aiming to feel at home in the world of the Iron Kingdoms. Be they humble Giving Day House treats or locations warped by the twisted magic of the Grymkin, we let our team’s imaginations take hold, and we were not disappointed. In fact, we’re having trouble picking our favorite one. So, that’s where you come in!

We are going to host a bit of a vote on Twitter to see which creation is your favorite. The winner will receive a prize for their hard-earned glory, but better still, Twitter followers who vote on their favorite will be entered to win a gift card to our store. So, you might just find a touch of holiday magic with a gift for yourself after the dust settles and a winner is declared.

Let’s take a look at our contestants, shall we?

First, we have what I like to call the Chocolate Trenches. This entry might not be edible, as it’s supported by a layer of foam beneath its layers of sugar, but that doesn’t keep it from being a treat for the eyes. I worry that any soldier unfortunate enough to have to fight in it might be suffering from a bad case of chocolate trench foot after too long. Notice the trench light gummies and snowy white frosting!

Next, we have something that is a bit more classical. A right and proper Gingerbread House, though it seems that perhaps the ravages of war have taken their toll, even in Candy Land. I like the almond shingles and candy cane streetlamp. Good details!

Infernals after your immortal soul? No place to hide? Well, you can keep safe this winter in the Candy Block House! Equipped with sandwich cookie cannons, barbed sprinkles, and only the strongest graham crackers, it even makes good use of Pez as sandbags.

I’m not sure if the troops got hungry or if artillery has been hammering this house, but here we have some Gingerbread Ruins.  Good for taking cover under…or for a quick snack!

Last but not least, we have something a bit more storybookish. Three little Piggybacks hide from the big bad Pureblood Warpwolf. Will the Warpwolf’s Death Howler huff and puff and bring the house down, or will the candy-hording pygs live to see another day?

So, there you have them! Got a favorite? Want to be eligible to win your very own Privateer Press Online Store gift card worth $100? Head on over to our Twitter account and tell us which house earns the prize for holiday spirit, Iron Kingdoms style!
