3 Reasons to Back the Icarus Project Kickstarter

As we revealed last Friday, there’s less than a month to go until the Icarus Project Kickstarter, launching September 7th. Here are 3 reasons you should pledge.

3 Reasons to Back the Icarus Project Kickstarter

Reason 1: The Miniatures

Obviously the main reason to back a miniatures project is the miniatures.

The Icarus Project miniatures are incredibly sharp and detailed pieces sculpted by the top talent in the industry.

We are committed to world class miniatures, and as you can see below, our miniatures are very faithful to the incredible concept art.

Made from a high quality resin that captures all the details beautifully, you can be sure that the character you see in our concept art, through to the 3D renders, will look just as good in real life. Take a look below at the evolution of our first miniature, Gabriel Cross.

Reason 2: Gameplay

With its simple to learn core system, but a range of advanced and special rules that add tactical depth and make it difficult to master, the Icarus Project is ideal for the casual and competitive gamer alike.

With dynamic movement, and brutal combat, the rules help to create a really cinematic experience.

Breach buildings with explosives that throw your enemies out the windows, or simply bring the whole building down. Fire into swirling melees, running the risk of hitting your own units, and watch as your models succumb to the grief if they miss their target.
Each army in the Icarus Project has different strength and play styles. From the brutal, all-out attack of the Nexus, to the fragile but fast Praesidians, there is a play style for everyone.

And if you want to use your existing range our build a truly unique force, the mercenary list allows you to ally with other races, or field a Strike Force personal to you.

Reason 3: Background

The universe of The Icarus Project is ever changing. Choices and victories won by the players can have long lasting effects on the universe. Empires can rise and fall based on the roll of the players’ dice. Results of campaigns might introduce new characters, equipment, or races. Or similarly, they might see characters or entire races wiped from the face of the galaxy.

The Icarus Project is not a static universe where nothing in the background moves forward for years. This living universe gives players a sense of ownership in knowing their actions had a direct impact on the future of the universe and game.

No one is perfect in this universe. Characters are fully realised, with extensive back stories and relatable flaws. Character backgrounds directly affect how the characters perform in-game, and the things that happen to characters in stories, novels, and campaigns will affect how they play on the table top.

I hope this list has gotten you excited about the Icarus Project. If you’d like to give this fast paced skirmish game a try, you can download a copy for FREE here.
