We’re hearing talk more and more about crowdfunding platforms, specially about Kickstarter – which was launched also in Spain on 2015. For many companies, businesses and products, the road to market begins on Kickstarter, where each day more and more different kinds of products are present. Without knowing further statistics of last year, is expected that 2015 eclipse 2014 total pledges, when 3.3 million of people from all over the world pledged more than a half billion dollars.

If we already talked about how board games presence on Kickstarter had grown, today we want to underline thanks to this list of the most successful Kickstarter projects of 2015, that 3 of them are board games:

  • Conan

Conan the Barbarian is well known and the board game presented by Monolith Board Games raised $3.3 million on Kickstarter.

  • Zombicide

CoolMiniOrNot repeated Kickstarter to fund its third versión of the apocalypse survival boardgame Zombicide, which alse include colectable 3D printed miniatures. It raised $4.1 million.

  • Exploding Kittens

This famous Kickstarter card game developed by The Oatmel has raised $8.8 million and it’s the third largest Kickstarter campaign on the ranking.

In Imagine 3D Miniatures we are happy to hear this news because of the industry growth and the innovation possibilities that can arise among board game designers. Also, as evidenced by some of the crowdfunding board games campagins present on Kickstarter, 3D modeling and 3D printing are really helpful for miniature prototyping for new board games and developers who wish to launch their projects on these platforms. Precisely for this reason we believe in our service of 3D modeling and 3D printing and in how through this way we can help board game designers, especially in a situation like the one we are living right now. On our website you can find all the information about this service, which we will be updating with pictures of the different requests we are receiving.
