Slumbering Oblivion Cthulhu Miniatures
Slumbering Oblivion Kickstarter
Reclusive Phoenix is running a Kickstarter now to produce a new line of miniatures. These are the first miniatures for a developing near-future scifi/horror tabletop war game called Slumbering Oblivion.
Premise
The miniatures and eventual game are inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft and together with a near-future setting will result in a different kind of Cthulhu game than is typical. In the game, Cthulhu is real and Lovecraft was not just telling stories.
In the latter half of the 21st century humanity stumbled upon the fabled city or R’lyeh and woke its guardians. Now the forces of Cthulhu battle the advanced warriors of humanity and Earth is a battlefield. Civilians hide within fortress cities deep inland or within lunar colonies.
A successful Kickstarter campaign will release the first miniatures for the Army of Cthulhu. With concept art by Danny Cruz coupled with the sculpting skills of Roberto Chaudon, the miniatures are a fantastic mix of the familiar and the new.
Familiar: Deep Ones
New: Murguba
Sixteen different miniatures are available to backers now on the Kickstarter and more will be unlocked once it is fully funded. Currently, the campaign has reached nearly 50% of its funding goal and there are a little less than 3 weeks left to go! We are looking for more backers to help unlock even more beasts. Does Cthulhu call to you? Do you want different sculpts of Deep Ones, MiGo and Shoggoth as well as some new creatures? Or do you just like creepy critters to paint? Then this is probably a Kickstarter you will want to check out. Give it a look and pick up some cool miniatures while you can. The Kickstarter ends on Wednesday June 13th at 9pm eastern time (US).
