Stay Home and Play Flames Of War and WWIII Team Yankee


With everything that is going on at the moment, we asked Phil to come up with some ideas about how we could still get out out models and play some games..

 

He said;

With Covid-19 keeping us all at home, here’s some ideas on how we can still keep playing while we stay at home. I’ll start by addressing the most obvious difficulty: not having an opponent. I have several ideas on how to get around that! Most of these ideas are most definitely not my own, in fact some of them come from Donald Featherstone’s classic Solo Wargaming from way back in 1973. Others come from the many useful solo wargaming sites that you can find in a quick web search.

We also challenged him to find a way to take the Flames Of War Starter Set and come up with some great little scenarios that you could solo play..

Normally, you’d expect to play Flames Of War with a real flesh-and-blood opponent. However, at the moment that option isn’t available to us. To help remedy this, I wrote some ideas on how to play a regular pickup game without an opponent, or devise your own scenarios to play against and AI opponents.
