Miniature Cases for Skirmish Gamers

If you’re a gamer who enjoys small to medium sized battles, collects minis for more than one system or multiple factions, then this bit of news is for you.

Until now, you needed a different load out (or a different bag) to carry each of your factions. At a time when KickStarter projects run rampant and manufacturers continue expanding their ranges with new releases, this could quickly get old.

Whenever you decided to use anything but custom-cut foam you’d run into problems with bending parts and chipped paint. That’s because minis tend to have sharp bits that get stuck in foam, especially when they don’t fit perfectly, i.e. they’re too loose or too tight in their compartments. And don’t even tell me about the make-shift boxes filled with scavenged packaging supplies that we’ve all had at one time or another. You know, for lugging around large and oddly-shaped minis, such as conversions or monsters.

So what did it look like if you went to the store to play a Journeyman league game of Warmachine, but you also wanted to get in a game of Malifaux or Dark Age? Well, that foam slot for your Warjack is no place for a Gremlin riding a pig or Dragyri Air Caste with a retinue of alien slaves. For the sake of comfort, you’d have to make some compromises. And if you didn’t, you might just have learned a thing or two about quick CA repairs. Which is super fun, especially when talking about painted models.

This all ends right now. Enter ShapeShift, the world’s first adjustable miniature case (no magnets or foam):

ShapeShift can take any miniature you have, provided you attached it to a base. The system holds models securely by the edges of their bases. No converting required.

As you can see, a set of adjustable bars can be moved to make room for bases of almost any size and shape (round, square, hexagonal, oval, etc.). We’ve lined each profiled edge with rubber. That means models won’t slide around and your bases won’t get damaged.

Nothing touches the paint job or protruding fragile bits, such as swords, chain knives or power glaives. Minis are bolted down. And you can take absolutely anything you want with it.

Each case comes with two trays (230mm square) and has three slots so you can adjust for the height of your models as well. To give you an idea of the capacity ShapeShift has, one tray can hold 70 minis on 20mm bases, 35 models on 30mm bases, 12 models on 50mm bases, or anything in between. This might mean three full units or 12 warjacks in Warmachine. Or a few armies for Dark Age or Malifaux.

Or these dwarfs.

It’s probably the best looking system on the market right now… Unless you can tell me you keep your foam on display.

And when you want to change your load out, you just switch out the minis. You don’t need a bunch of foam inserts, which means that the case can outlast your interest in any specific faction or game. It simply adapts to your needs.
