Vedra games (Facebook page) is releasing a kickstarter next April 1st for their miniatures game INVASION. Check out the preview of the campaign on this link.

Authors of the acclaimed board game CSW New Horizons and its expansion Flesh and Steel, and creators of the Colonial Space Wars Universe, the people at Vedra are now taking the plunge with a miniatures wargame based on the CSW franchise in an uncommon but refresing 18mm scale.

Regarding the decision to work in 18mm, J.D.Mendez (aka Boldo), the game designer, said: «After much testing, we found a sweet spot in 18mm, a perfect balance between a size that would allow massive battles but wouldn’t be too small to show the excellent detail of our models».

Veteran CSW players will appreciate that all the 150 Flesh and Steel units and their attributes will be preserved, and they will gradually be turned into miniatures, starting by the basic Combat Swords of the Union of Terra and the Heimdall Industries.

The INVASION kickstarter will consist of a two player starter box with a total of 36 high quality miniatures, for two of the four original Flesh and Steel factions: the Union of Terra, and Heimdall Industries. The other two factions, Centauri Brotherhood and the Ascaryan Infestation will be released in the near future.

The box will also include 40 Markers (Cardboard), 30 Health Marker Tokens, 7 Dice, one Cardstock Ruler, one Starter Terrain Kit (5 buildings and 9 walls, in foldable cardstock) and a 48 page Rulebook. The foldable cardstock terrain is shown in the picture below.
