Back from Salute

Spartan Games had a fantastic time at Salute Twenty Fifteen, the biggest independent one-day wargaming and gaming event in the UK, this past Saturday at ExCeL London.

Our show stealer was Halo: Fleet Battles, and our stand was bustling with excited fans throughout the day eager to find out more about the game. Spartans Derek, Crian and Martin did a great job running demonstration games and answering questions throughout the day, with two seven foot by five foot tables worth of Halo: Fleet Battles studio miniatures ready for visitors to deploy. It was a great opportunity for those placing pre-orders to see the models that will be a part of The Fall of Reach two player battle box, and there was even a chance to see the massive Covenant CAS Assault Carrier that will be released later in the year.

Lots of people took the opportunity to place a pre-order and grab their choice of Halo Commander bust for FREE. We even had a number of customers pre-ordering two boxed sets just so they could pick up both busts!

But that’s not all we were playing at Salute. Spartan Alex and Vanguards Oscar and Daniel took charge of Firestorm Planetfall and Firestorm Armada participation games, and Vanguards Neil, Andy, Gareth, Ben and Todd ran games of Dystopian Legions and Dystopian Wars. It was a great opportunity for those new to our games to find out what we’re all about. Indeed, many were able to take advantage of our FREE Rules Pack special offer, coming away from Salute with an introduction to our games and all the materials they need to get started. We’re really lucky to have an amazing team of volunteers and we’d like to thank everyone that was a part of our team on the day for working so hard and making it such a success.

Our model designers enjoyed discussing their latest creations with visitors to the show. It was really nice to see people admiring and snapping photos of the models in our display cabinets, and to then be able to tell them the people that designed them were standing right next to them. The display cabinet containing models from the upcoming Halo combat game was particularly popular, as you can probably imagine. Though the game is not coming out until 2016, Salute attendees were lucky enough to get a very early first look at some of the models.

Our acrylic display stands caught the attention of many visitors seeing our models in the flesh for the very first time.
