List Building With Jeff: Warwitch Initiate Deneghra

Hello again, friends!

Jeff here with another fun, wacky list. Today, I decided to take a shot at Warwitch Initiate Deneghra, aka Denny0.

First, I tackled the problem of building a cool list by trying to make something super fluffy. I prowled through some books and was dangerously close to settling on a list that featured Iron Lich Asphyxious and Initiate Deneghra leading a horde of Mechanithralls because it just seemed right.

But then I started getting a little weird. I figured, “Hey! There are two junior warcasters in Cryx now! How many of them can I jam into a list?”

Obviously, the answer was both.

And an Iron Lich Overseer.

So, then I started playing around with the idea of MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY!

Here is the list:

[Theme] Black Industries
[Asphyxious 1] Iron Lich Asphyxious [+28]
– Inflictor [13]
– Inflictor [13]
– Nightwretch [0(7)]
– Seether [13]
Aiakos, Scourge of the Meredius [4]
– Stalker [8]
– Stalker [8]
Iron Lich Overseer [5]
– Seether [13]
Soul Trapper [1]
Warwitch Initiate Deneghra [4]
– Nightwretch [0(7)]
– Seether [13]
Warwitch Siren [4]
Warwitch Siren [4]

My goal was to make my ’jacks as efficient as possible. With that in mind, I selected Seethers as my workhorse ’jack. Thanks to Berserk, Countercharge, free runs/charges, and a naturally high MAT, they can spend most of their focus on their damage rolls or buying additional attacks.

The Inflictors are there mostly because I’m a sucker for Shield Guards, and they’re darn good at that. Since the army is basically composed of three high-value models (Asphyxious, Aiakos, and Deneghra), a cagey opponent will realize that managing to shoot one of them off the table can have a big impact on the output of the army.

I like Iron Lich Asphxious because of his spell list, which provides some serious armor reduction like Parasite and Scything Touch, and with an arc node in play, he is always scary at just feating and nuking your ’caster to death.

When in doubt, Denny0 also has an arc node, so she throw out a Hail Mary Curse of Shadows, or perhaps she has loaded up with souls from her Seether and Witch Bond, giving her a little bit more room to play with her spell list.

And Aiakos with Stalkers? Man, that is a good package.

Obviously, the Warwitch Sirens are primarily there for Empower for MORE EFFICIENCY!

Finally, the Soul Trapper is there because I had an extra point to play with, and he sure can sit in a zone or score a flag!

So, what about you? Do you often build new lists to play with a fresh concept or try and stretch an idea to its limits? Hit us up on social media and let us know what kind of fun, weird lists you like to experiment with!
